Wonderful, wonderful book!

I read this book so many times to my daughters when they were younger that I knew the words by memory. I remember I had to read it at least 3 times in a row, every night, and at least 4 times a week!!!
Our copy was worn away, the hardcover got all tattered and separated, some pages were dog-eared and torn, some pages had some crayon marks, but it was still the favorite. They even knew the words, and would tell Mommy or Daddy if we omitted something. It was the absolute favorite. I don't know whatever happened to it, probably got tossed when they grew up and moved out.
Recently my 3 year old grandson wanted me to read him a story of the 3 little pigs, and I couldn't find any copies of this version anywhere. I like the Disney version of the Three Little Pigs the best out there, perhaps because I can not read any other versions without my brain cells telling my tongue what to say from the Disney version. No matter what, I had to get the Disney book again.
So, I came to Amazon to get one. Silly me....I had to buy 3 copies, one for each of my daughters as a memory gift, boy did that get a smile from them! I bought the other copy for my grandson.
Now, I can huff and puff like I used to when I read to the grandchildren. Perhaps they too will love it just as much as their moms did when they were children!

If you love Disney’s wonderful cartoons, you will like this book

This attractive little book retells the story from Disney’s 1933 "Silly Symphony" cartoon of The Three Little Pigs. Each page of the book is filled with bright and wonderfully done illustrations. Accompanying that is text, telling a somewhat simplified version of the story from the cartoon.
This book is quite good, and my four-year-old really enjoyed having it read for her. (She especially liked that I could sing the right tune to Who’s Afraid Of The Big Bad Wolf song!) It is right on for young readers, using simple text and generally small words. The illustration work is very good, looking a lot like the original cartoon! So, let me just say that if you love Disney’s wonderful cartoons, you will like this book.

Interactive classic fun for adults too

We have hundreds of kids books but this one remains a favorite for my 5 year old. The story is simple so young ones enjoy reading it over and over, and looking at the fun illustrations. And somehow it is even enjoyable for the adult readers in the family. It lends itself well to being interactive (making knocking sounds and blowing on the pages just like the wolf), and as such the kids get to actively participate rather than just passively listening. I imagine one could make any number of books interactive, but there is a charm to this version of the classic story that make it natural to do so.
