PreSchool-K This bedtime/concept book is an unsatisfying example of both types of book. The text has been resurrected from 1949, and it shows. There is no need to expose children to such forced rhyme as, ``How many noses? /How many toeses?'' The illustrations show a contemporary young woman clad in baggy sweater and sweat pants, and the preschooler, allegedly the woman's young daughter, in various rooms of a house that reflects the era from which the text dates. It may be possible that the pair dashed back to a quaint 1940s farmhouse after their aerobics class, but they just don't appear to be at home in their surroundings. Otherwise, the Norman Rockwell-type illustrations are filled with eye-catching detail. A far better bedtime/concept book is Molly Bang's Ten, Nine, Eight (Greenwillow, 1983). Toddler loves

Since my little boy has been 2 he wants this book to read just before bed. The rhyme is sweet and simple, though you should know that the book is very short and the rhymes aren't great..."how many hairs...millions, billions, trillions..." ahhh, a bit ridiculous, but all that matters is my little boy is happy.

Wonderful Book

Bought this (and My Goodnight Book) for my son's 2 year old daughter, because they were favorites of my daughter's growing up. (She still have her's, and is starting to read them to her 1 year old daughter.) This book was in very good condition for the age and price. The pages are paper, but are fairly thick and sturdy. The colors have held up well in 20+ years. (The "my goodnight book" board book faded - even the original one we already have.) Highly recommend - sweet, simple and a nightly treasure. Eloise Wilkin's illustrations are so sweet. That being said, some sellers are exploiting prices and I would not have paid obscene prices for the these books. Happy with what I paid and what I got.

A CLASSIC!

A sweet old favorite as comforting as it was when my son was born in 1969! I can still recite it word for word. It was a loving bedtime ritual for both of my children. Don't pick it apart as one previous review did. It isn't supposed to be perfect adult English. It's a parent loving her child. It will stay with you forever. A perfect gift for any young baby.
